my meaningful morning
I ALWAYS start each day with a cup of tea. Maybe its because I’m English and old habits die hard, but it’s a very centering act. I then go to my special jar, which I have called ‘adventure with me,’ and from that I ask the universe what is that I am needing to do this very day. I choose a piece of paper on which I have written special daily messages. I have put about 200 of those into that jar, and interestingly enough, I always seem to choose a message that I might be needing to do or see or hear. Sometimes I choose a message I would like to dismiss or I think that its not something I am requiring, but oddly enough when I follow the message it becomes clear that it was indeed something I was needing to heed in my life. Some examples of the prompts in my jar:
- read a poem
- seek joy in all that you do today
- take a walk in nature
- as is the inner so is the outer
- look for the beauty in the mundane
- seek simplicity in all today
- lectio divina—choose a piece
- etc.—add your own!
